Live From The New England Metal and Hardcore Festival

I'm here in Worcester, Massachusetts attending the annual New England Hardcore and Metal Festival. Friday night's headliners were Dimmu Borgir, who just released their latest CD In Sorte Diaboli. I interviewed bassist Vortex, and look for that to be published in the near future.

Saturday is Metal Blade day, as the legendary label celebrates its 25th anniversary. Every band playing on Saturday is on Metal Blade, and the festival will wrap up with an all star jam with some surprise guests. Check in Sunday and I'll let you know how it turned out.

I've been to a lot of metal festivals and concerts, but this is my first trip to the New England Hardcore and Metal Festival. I prefer indoor festivals (I'm old and pasty), and this one is well attended and well organized. The venue was jam packed for the headliners, and had a pretty good crowd all day Friday. I was impressed with today's events (even though I was a couple hours late thanks to a flight delay out of New York), and look forward to the second day of festivities. I was interviewing during some of the sets and didn't see everyone, but the highlights for me included Walls Of Jericho and Devil Driver.
