Five Finger Death Punch - The Way Of The Fist Review

Saturday August 4, 2007
Five Finger Death Punch's debut CD is The Way Of The Fist, an appropriate title for the band's aural assault. There are no fancy bells and whistles, just straight ahead, in your face metal with thick riffs, a pummeling rhythm section, and some nice guitar solos. The songs are heavy, but infused with a lot of melody and are fit for mass consumption.

The vocals of Ivan Moody range from angry thrash style yells to surprisingly smooth melodic vocals. This is musical ground that has been well traveled, but Five Finger Death Punch's musicianship and ferocity along with their melodic sensibility makes this a rock solid debut. You can also check them out this summer on the Family Values Tour.
