Iron Maiden Tour Dates

Thursday February 21, 2008
From onstage at the packed Los Angeles Forum, Iron Maiden announced the first leg of their North American summer tour. With tickets for Iron Maiden's current "Somewhere Back In Time World Tour 08" dates at the Los Angeles Forum and New Jersey's Izod Centre sold out months in advance, the band will be coming back for more U.S. concerts this summer. Tickets for the majority of these shows will go on sale to the public on Saturday, March 1st. A special pre-sale will be made available exclusively to members of the Iron Maiden fan club.

This tour revisits the band's history by focusing almost entirely on their classic 80's period in both choice of songs played and the stage set. The band intends to bring along for this summer leg of the tour the colossal mummy of Eddie, as featured on the recently released Live After Death DVD, along with various other elements of the show that would not fit on their 757 on the first leg of this tour.

Vocalist Bruce Dickinson says, "We are all greatly looking forward to getting back to see our fans in places like Texas, the South West and Seattle where we haven't played for quite some time. And for this leg we will be able to bring along all Eddie's toys which we couldn't get on our plane during the first leg. We are all having a great time on this tour and really can't believe the excitement it is creating round the world and the huge numbers of people who are turning out to see us. It makes for a really very exciting time for all of us, fans and band alike."

Maiden kicked off their Somewhere Back In Time World tour 08 in Mumbai, India on Feb 1st, before it rolled into Australia and Japan earlier this month - their first visit to the country in 15 years. During this tour Iron Maiden is expected to play to more than 1.5 million fans in the next six months.

Geography Lesson I: There’s more to U.S. than New Jersey, Texas, NM, and California. Nice tour.

I know what you mean… I live in Iowa.

Tours go usually go like this:

Kansas City
Omaha
Twin Cities
Milwaukee
Chicago
St Louis
Indianapolis
and off to the East

or, from the East going west
Indianapolis
St Louis
Chicago
Milwaukee
Twin Cities
Omaha
Kansas City
then out to the west

Once in a while, Des Moines will get someone like Van Halen or Bon Jovi or the iWireless Center in Moline will get someone, but look at most of the tours that come out and tell me I don’t know what’s going on – Iowa, for whatever reason, still has the stigma of ‘corn’ and ‘flat’ and ‘no fans.’ BS. Concerts sell out and the crowds are great.

Iowa is a great place to raise my family. I just wish the concert promoters would give us a chance.

Who in New Mexico listens to Iron maiden, and they probably got confused with washington thinking it was the capital cause theyre playing in no name places. They need to come down to Florida, i mean all they do is stuff in Europe the least they can do is spread it out when they get to the US dont just stay on the West coast.

(4) Richard in Austin, Texas says:

I have seen Iron Maiden 7x and I am going in May to see them in San Antonio. They are a great live band and its going to be a blast. Maiden rules!

(6) Karl Grassing says:

I live in western Canada, and Sask has not had a Maiden show in over twenty years. It’s rumored to happen this time, but the dude in Iowa doesn’t have nearly as far to go to see shows as I usually do. (I’ve been thru 18 states I know) There’s venues everywhere.

(7) jb says:

For one thing, this is only the 1st (2nd?) leg in the US. In theory they will be announcing an additional leg or two here shortly. And Maiden has always been flaky where they play (since the FotD days anyway. They haven’t been to Mpls since 2000 for BNW. The Ozzfest run got cancelled in Somerset and the “old days” tour was hit or miss about the country. With little to no airplay, they just don’t get the media attention to really rally up that a US tour is going on. Last time here, if you weren’t looking for it, you never would have known they were even in town.

Note to Karl Grassing in Canada, Iron Maiden, Eddie, & the boys are hitting western Canada…

June 3, Vancouver @ Pacific Coliseum
June 5, Calgary @ Pengrowth Saddledome
June 6, Edmonton @ Rexall Place
June 8, REGINA @ BRANDT CENTER
June 9 Winnipeg @ MTS Centre

Then I get to drive my ass from the St.Paul to Chicago to see them at the old Rosemont Horizen-now Allstate Arena on June 11. I don’t trust them coming to the TwinCities, Minnesota.

Karl, I hope you see this, the Iron Maiden website has links to the ticket info, including online fanclub presale. Think about it, & thank me.

ha ha…i’m from Jacksonville, fixing to move to San Francisco just so I can see better concerts.

(12) danybhoy says:

Hey Karl, did you get tickets for the Regina show? I hope so, all of Maiden’s western Canadian dates are sold out. I told you mentioned the Iron Maiden fanclub internet presale in a personal message, I used that to get floor tix in Chicago. Over 6,500 tix were sold in Calgary for the fanclub online presale, before the general public had a shot. I have heard great reviews about this tour, hope you get to see them. Let me know.

Note to XSTATIKAL, you might get to see better concerts more often in Frisco as opposed to Jacksonville, but you better have plenty of money. Frisco ain’t a cheap place to live, nowhere in the Bay Area is cheap. Think about that when you decide where to move to. Good luck.

(15) Claudio says:

Maiden cannot possible play at every city in the U.S, not to mention the rest of the countries, that’s a sacrifice people are going to have to make if they want to see them.

I’m back to tell you all about Iron Maiden in Chicago. Best show I have ever seen, period. I have seen many of the best, AC/DC, Metallica, Kiss, Van Halen, Judas Priest, & Def Leppard among others, as well as Rush 3 weeks before (May 22 in St.Paul), & as good as that was, Maiden blows away everyone, but maybe being at the barrier had something to do with my opinion. They sound great, & the crowd was jacked up. Great energy in the Allstate Arena that night, if you missed out, it sucks to be you.

None of the “…here is a song off of the new album” crap. All classic Maiden tunes, newest song was “Fear of the Dark” from 92. Everything else was from “Number of the Beast”, “Piece of Mind”, “Powerslave”, Somewhere in time”, & “7th Son of a 7th Son”. Of course they played “Iron Maiden” from their 1st album, & they had a revised version “Powerslave” stage. It was amazing. I will try to catch them next time they are out on the road. They are legends.

(19) Rad74ss says:

They should play at Rock Fever in Oklahoma. They would be Kings!
Unfortunately the Rock Fever promoters put quantity over quality.
An Iron Maiden/Judas Priest (with Rob Halford) bill would be worth a months pay! Says I!

(22) danybhoy says:

hey ravel,

Maiden are playing Caracas on March 5, 2009. According to Maiden’s fanclub website, the tickets are being sold through a site called evenpro.com, but I think it leads to a link to something called MIPUNTO.COM. The site is in spanish. The gig looks like it’s at a baseball stadium, they have general & prefered seating. I don’t know what they are going for, Chicago was $70(floor) after ticketmaster got their cut.

Check ironmaiden.com for tour dates. Good Luck.

Do all you complainers notice how this says 1st leg??? Many big name metal acts that tour frequently go like this: mini leg in US – Japan rest of world… – More extensive tour of US, and in IM’s case, probably a bunch of tour ending dates in the UK… :) relax….you’ll probably see em “Somewhere Near You”
