Recommended Band Of The Week: Laaz Rockit

Every week I recommend a different metal band you might not be familiar with. Most metal fans know the major artists, but sometimes it’s nice to dig a little deeper to more underground or even unsigned bands. This week’s featured band is Laaz Rockit. They formed back in 1982 and were a Bay Area thrash metal band. They released five full-lengths and a live CD between 1984 and 1992 before splitting up. My personal favorite Laaz Rockit album is 1989’s Annihilation Principle.

Laaz Rockit are one of the most underrated and underpublicized Bay Area thrash bands. They released some excellent albums, but had little commercial success. The band got back together a few years ago and released a DVD. There have been rumblings of a possible CD of new material sometime soon.
