King's X - XV Review
In 2008 King's X is as vital and vibrant as ever. XV finds the trio of Doug Pinnick, Ty Tabor and Jerry Gaskill in excellent form. The band's fifteenth album has some of the heaviest songs they've done in a while. It's also packed with King X's trademark groovy medium tempo songs and a couple of ballads.
King's X are excellent songwriters, and this CD has a lot of memorable hooks and catchy choruses. The band has never been afraid to state their beliefs, and there are a couple songs, including "Pray For Me," that explore the spiritual side of things. XV is a little more polished than some of their past work, but it has a lot of variety and shows King's X has a lot of life left in them.

This band makes you believe youve had an experience from a higher power. No band has taken me to the place kings x has, they are absolutely amazing.
I am an european politically left hearted and radical ATHEIST…
)) But I am a King’s X fan for years : 1. few rock musicians (except the greatest) have the guts, the balls and the talent to play in trio. Pinnick, Tabor and Gaskill are references : best rock voice ever ; one of the most imaginative and less boring guitar player ; a discrete but efficient drummer. Last but not least : remember that Pinnick is ALSO a huge bass player with a HUGE sound and their songs – even the toughest – are full of humanity and musicality. Maybe XV is not the best King’s X album (Aow… Dogman!), but still much better than all the mainstream (crap).
I’m with maria they take me places no band ever has. There is nothing fake or contrived about them in any way, they are the real deal. I think the fact that they still make albums and tour after all these years with the same original members is almost as amazing as their synergistic music.
