Various Artists - We Wish You A Metal Xmas and A Headbanging New Year Review

Friday December 5, 2008
Christmas albums aren't very metal, but metalheads have that Christmas spirit, too. Plus, would you rather listen to Kenny G. and Mariah Carey sing Christmas songs or would Dio and Lemmy be a little more metal?

We Wish You A Metal Xmas And A Headbanging New Year is a full filled and star studded Christmas music compilation. The songs are ones you've heard of, and there's a wide variety of genres represented. Some of those lending their talents to the CD include Alice Cooper, Lemmy (Motorhead), Jeff Scott Soto, Bruce Kulick (Kiss), Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath), George Lynch (Dokken), Chuck Billy (Testament), Scott Ian (Anthrax), Geoff Tate (Queensryche), Stephen Pearcy (Ratt) and Tracii Guns (L.A. Guns).

This is a great record. “Silent Night” with Chuck Billy and Scott Ian just might be the best Christmas tune of all time. I did a track-by-track review of this album a couple months ago—check it out.
