40 year old John McCarthy of Boston punk metal pioneers Post Mortem has passed away. Guitarist John Alexander posted the news on the band's MySpace page. The band had recently finished the music for a comeback CD, but unfortunately McCarthy hadn't yet recorded the vocals. Post Mortem formed in 1982 and released several albums throughout the '80s and early '90s.
Metal Mark from Heavy Metal Time machine published an interview with McCarthy last August. Our condolences to McCarthy's family, bandmates and friends.

John McCarthy was underground Metal pioneer.even in the back of art class i knew this guy is funny and way ahead of the curve musically.John is advanced and a classic.He will be missed……P.W
