Edguy has been slowly moving away from their power metal beginnings, and Tinnitus Sanctus continues that. There are some power metal moments, but most of the CD is mainstream melodic metal and hard rock. The songs have giant hooks, singalong choruses and are polished but still punchy.
Tinnitus Sanctus showcases a lot of different styles. From the power ballad "Thorn Without A Rose" to the anthemic "Ministry Of Saints" to the heavy "Sex Fire Religion," Edguy delivers a diverse collection of songs. One of the highlights is "Speedhoven," a nearly 8 minute long bombastic epic filled with drama, atmosphere and many twists and turns.
