Hmm I’d have to say my list would be different. Most of the bands listed got their sound from the forerunners of the metalcore movement and I wouldn’t see them as essential.
I’d probably go back to the 90ies mostly and include some European bands as well.

Hmmm I would have made a different list most likely. Earth Crisis would be on there, and most likely Shai Hulud. But I would probably replace most of the newer bands in there with the bands that really got the genre going. So mostly bands from the 90ies and I would probably include some European bands
