While the ironic, retro-thrash parade continues to party-on and be excellent to a myriad of bandana-clad, skateboard-bearing youths, we all know that two things will eventually happen once this trend reaches its zenith. One, stylistic originators such as Municipal Waste will continue to thrive in the ensuing freefall, and two, the wheat shall be separated from the chaff of what’s left at the end. While it remains to be seen where Austin, Texas’ Iron Age will be at the end of it all, the project’s sophomore effort The Sleeping Eye seems to possess enough charisma to be a contender.
