Best Heavy Metal Albums Of 1988
Wednesday August 19, 2009
1988 was another rock solid year for heavy metal. This year's list saw only two bands making it for the first time: Queensryche and Danzig. The rest all made it in a previous year or years, and it's no surprise to see groups like Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer on the list. Here are my choices for the best metal albums of 1988.

And in case you missed any of my previous lists, here they are:

Solid, yes. The first four are a no-brainer in their inclusion (with 7th Son at least higher than South of Heaven, their most energetic since …Beast). I would throw in Manowar with Kings of Metal to complete the Top 5.
I would say that From Enslavement to Obliteration belongs on this list. Probably in the top five.
i can’t believe Blood Fire Death is not on that list.
Good list. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son is my number 1 for this year. I like what you said about So Far So Good So What, it is too often overlooked.
…And Justice For All !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
