Metal’s favorite aliens Gwar have been on Earth for a quarter century now, but that’s just a blink of an eye to these immortals. They’ve returned to Metal Blade Records for their latest CD Lust In Space. The always entertaining frontman Oderus Urungus gives us the scoop on the new CD, his regular appearances on Fox News’ Red Eye, their upcoming 25th anniversary tour and more.

Chad Bowar: The band is celebrating your 25th anniversary, which is big on earth, but being 43 billion years old, how significant is it to you?

Oderus Urungus: First of all I am 45 billion years old, which is still young for a scumdog. Even though 25 years is about a half an eye blink for me, there is still a great deal of significance to this event, from a human perspective. Never has there been a band that has stayed so consistently excellent while influencing so many others to be so consistently (crappy).

What can fans expect from your upcoming CD Lust In Space?

A masterpiece from one of metals most treasured nuggets, Gwar. Gwar marks 25 years of dominance over earth with the epic album Lust In Space, chock full of the mutated metal mania that generations of Gwar fans have grown to expect and adore. Buy or die!

The best part of GWAR just might be anything that Oderus says. He is becoming now 25 years later what Dee Snider was 25 years ago, the face of a genre.
