According to reports in the Des Moines Register and KCCI TV, Slipknot bassist Paul Gray was found deceased at a hotel in Urbandale, Iowa this morning. He was 38 years old. More details as they become available. In addition to being in Slipknot since 1995, Gray also recently joined Hail!, the all-star project with Tim "Ripper" Owens, Sepultra's Andreas Kisser and others. He replaced Dave Ellefson, who rejoined Megadeth.

slipknot is one of my favourite bands and the passing away of one the finest bassists really makes me feel sad. he will be missed.
