Yakuza is a band that's not afraid to experiment, implementing a multitude of influences and a variety of instruments (such as saxophone) into their music. Their latest CD Of Seismic Consequence finds them on a new record label, Profound Lore. As the band marks its 10th anniversary, frontman Bruce Lamont fills us in on Yakuza's new album, his multitude of other bands and projects, his high and low points in the band and other subjects.

Chad Bowar: Was your writing and recording process for Of Seismic Consequence similar to your past albums?
Bruce Lamont: We took the same approach as on the last record. Writing-wise we take our time. It was over a year or so of working out things. Like on the last record we demoed all the material ahead of time, then went back and re-assessed some things and made some minor changes so we can get into the studio and be as efficient as possible. Studio time is not cheap, and we aren't a band with a huge budget. Everything worked out great. It was low pressure, a really good time, and everything came out exactly the way we wanted it to. We are very pleased with the end result.
