Narrowing down the hundreds of metal albums released every year into a list of the 10 best is difficult enough, but coming up with the best albums released in an entire decade is nearly impossible. The '80s were a great decade for metal, with many of the all-time classics released during that time frame. With 4 out of the top 10 albums, Metallica dominated the decade, but many other fantastic metal albums made our list. These are the top 20 metal albums of the '80s.

Although I’m not a fan of all the bands, I think your top 10 hits the mark on some of the best metal albums of the 80’s. However, I almost threw up when I got to the second page containing a list that seemed to be thrown together haphazardly. I am a fan of their old work, but Metallica does not have 4 of the Top 20 Metal albums of the 80’s. I am also disappointed that you chose albums by mostly the same groups for the second half of your Top 20.
