Black Label Society - Skullage

Eagle Rock Entertainment
Skullage is the second greatest hits compilation released by Black Label Society in the past few years, and includes a CD and DVD. However, there's not much duplication between this one and Kings Of Damnation 98-04. Four out of 16 songs are the same, but two of those are live acoustic versions ("The Blessed Hellride" and "Spoke In The Wheel") on Skullage.

The CD covers BLS's whole career, with one or two songs from each album, and three from 2005's "Mafia." They run the gamut from mellow ballads to balls out rockers. It's a nice mix from the band's catalog.

The DVD portion of Skullage includes the live acoustic tracks that are on the CD, plus a couple more that were also recorded in Lehigh Valley in 2004. In addition, there are several music videos and three tracks from Black Label Society's 2003 DVD Boozed, Broozed, and Broken-Boned.

The DVD wraps up with candid footage of Wylde hanging out at his house, showing his guitars, and just being Zakk. Skullage is a quality compilation. BLS fans will enjoy the behind the scenes stuff on the DVD, and the rest is a good representation of the band's output so far.
