Jotunspor - Gleipnirs SmederCandlelight Records
Jotunspor are ex Gorgoroth members King Ov Hell (bass, guitar) and Kvitrafn (vocals, drums). The album, as you may guess from the title, is in their native Norwegian. It's old school, focusing on old Norse cults and beliefs.

The CD starts out strong, but then loses momentum with the interminably long 7 minute second track that's nothing but atmosphere and ambient noise. Thankfully they pick things up through the rest of the disc. It's dense and dark, and even primitive in places. Slow doomy sections contrast with faster blasts and make it sound very diverse. The vocals range from menacing chants to more traditional rasps. Black metal aficionados should find this one sufficiently evil.
