His latest is Judas Priest: Heavy Metal Painkillers. Like his other band bios, it is organized by album. Each chapter talks about what went into each album, the songs themselves, interviews with various band members and tour information. Judas Priest has a long and interesting history, and Popoff does a nice job boiling it down and organizing it into a very readable and compelling book.
Priest always has presented a united front, so finding dirt and backstage gossip about the band was very difficult. Judas Priest are masters of the media, but Popoff still manages to shed some light on the band members and their relationship. From the early days to Rob Halford's exit to the Ripper Owens era to the reunion, it's all covered in detail. There's also information about their other endeavors such as Halford and Fight.
The book also includes a lot of photos and artwork, which combined with the interesting account of the band's career makes Judas Priest: Heavy Metal Painkillers a must-have for Priest fans.
