It was written by musician/producer/songwriter Mike Daly, former member of the band Whiskeytown. He collected excellent band photos and paired them with a quote from a metal or hard rock song. The book is divided into sections such as "Meditations," "Zen Questions," "Daily Affirmations" and "Words Of Wisdom."
Time Flies When You're In A Coma: The Wisdom Of The Metal Gods is a very quick read since the contents are basically pictures and one or two sentence quotes. But getting this book in the hands of a loved one could change their life. After all, everyone can benefit from such bits of wisdom as "The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long" (Lizzy Borden) or "Talking to you is like clapping with one hand." (Anthrax)
You'll spend hours pondering the answer to meaningful questions such as "What good is all the violence in the world unless it's topped with meaningless sex?" (Gwar) or "What do you want from love, mercy or control?" (Flotsam and Jetsam) Time Flies When You're In A Coma: The Wisdom Of The Metal Gods is fun, funny, interesting and packed with photos. It deserves a place in every metalhead's bathroom.
