Crown The Lost - Blind Faith Loyalty

Cruz Del Sur Music
A couple of years ago I reviewed Crown The Lost's self-released CD Reverence Dies Within and said they were worthy of label attention. Cruz Del Sur Music obviously agreed, as they signed the band for their sophomore CD Blind Faith Loyalty.

Crown The Lost are a thrash band with a great sense of melody. Razor sharp riffs and searing solos are complemented by memorable hooks and choruses. There's also traditional metal and some progressive influences in the band's sound.

Crown The Lost has really stepped up the songwriting on Blind Faith Loyalty. Their musicianship is excellent, but the way the songs ebb and flow with tempo and intensity changes makes them even more compelling. Songs like the epic seven minute "Symbiotic" alternate between grand and melodic traditional metal and fast, shredding thrash.

Chris Renaldi is not your typical thrash metal vocalist. His melodic singing is powerful and he has a wide range. The power metal style vocals help separate Crown The Lost from the pack of thrash revivalists. There are also some growling vocals on tracks such as "Defame The Hypocrites" and "Finality." They add a little variety, and as long as they don't go overboard with them I think they're a nice touch.
