The Agonist - Once Only ImaginedCentury Media Records
There are some surface similarities between The Agonist and another recent Century Media band, In This Moment. They both have attractive and charismatic female vocalists who both sing melodically and use screaming vocals.

The Agonist is a little harder edged, and their CD Once Only Imagined has a lot of metalcore elements. There are tons of breakdowns, but also influences of melodic death metal and a few sprinkles of gothic metal. There are clear contrasts of melody and aggression, beauty and anger.

Alissa White-Gluz has a potent and powerful screaming voice, and a really pretty melodic voice. Her delivery is sometimes passionate and angry, other times quiet and subdued. The lyrics reflect the band's political and social beliefs. However, they do lose points since White-Gluz appeared on Canadian Idol, not exactly the most metal of shows.
