Open Fire shows Alabama Thunderpussy hasn't lost a step, and their brand of southern soaked metal is better than ever. You'll get the usual distorted stoner style guitar riffs, but the songs are really catchy. They are gritty and grungy, but also packed full of hooks that won't stop. It's a great combination of metal intensity and hard rock grooves and melodies.
New vocalist Thomas really shines on this CD. His voice has a lot of range, enough of an edge to fit in perfectly with the band's sound, and it has a distinctive sound to it. Between the excellent vocals and outstanding songwriting this is one of Alabama Thunderpussy's best releases.
