Antagonist - An Envy Of InnocenceDwell Records
Antagonist has become well known in the California metal scene, and with their latest CD hope the rest of the country and the world will discover them.

An Envy Of Innocence has a lot of different influences. It has the breakdowns and vocal style of metalcore, the guitar sound of Bay Area thrash, and a darker death metal vibe. Antagonist balances technical musicianship and well constructed songs with frenzied riffs and emotion. In addition to the riffs and breakdowns, there are also periodic acoustic interludes that really give the CD a unique flavor.

The vocals are also pretty diverse. Carlos Garcia does everything from low pitched death metal growls to high pitched hardcore yelling to melodic singing. Fans of metalcore and thrash should enjoy Antagonist's combination of melody and brutality.
