This is the second release and first full-length from the Canadian death metal band Beneath The Massacre. They are highly technical in their style while still being punishing and brutal. The drumming is lightning fast, with blast beats flying all over the place along with stops and starts.
Mechanics Of Dysfunction has two tempos: fast and faster. Their skillful riffs and precise musicianship allow for them to sound really good at these blazing speeds, but the downside is that the songs get a little monotonous by the end of the CD.
The vocals are the standard death metal growls, unintelligible and buried in the mix. They are sufficiently angry and intense to fit right in with Beneath The Massacre's bludgeoning musical attack. This CD is excellent technical death metal, and Beneath The Massacre are a force to be reckoned with.
