Seasons Of Tragedy is mainly straight ahead metal with heavy riffs and a lot of melody. Benedictum also injects power metal and progressive metal into their sound. The songs are catchy, with keyboards providing some added atmosphere. There's a decent amount of variety, with tracks ranging from balls out rockers to groovier, more moderately paced songs and even a ballad.
Veronica Freeman is Benedictum's vocalist, and she sings with a lot of aggression and edge. She mixes in a few growls and screams amongst the melodic singing. She does her best Udo Dirkschneider impression on the cover of Accept's "Balls To The Wall," which is one of the weaker songs on the album. Seasons Of Tragedy combines classic '80s metal with some modern touches and excellent vocals.
