Various Artists - Butchering The Beatles: A Headbashing TributeRestless Records
The Beatles are the most successful band of all time and have spawned tribute albums in genres ranging from punk to bluegrass to big band, so it's only appropriate that there's a metal tribute as well.

Butchering The Beatles is a star studded affair with over 50 different musicians participating in the project. Instead of existing bands doing the songs, producer Bob Kulick put together 12 different bands of all star musicians. Some of the vocalists include Alice Cooper, Lemmy (Motorhead), Geoff Tate (Queenryche), Billy Idol, Jack Blades (Night Ranger), John Bush (Anthrax), Tim "Ripper" Owens and Kip Winger.

Other musicians that are part of the CD include guitarists Steve Vai, Steve Stevens, Yngwie Malmsteen, Vivian Campbell (Def Leppard), C.C. Deville (Poison) and George Lynch (Dokke) along with bassists Duff McKagen (Velvet Revolver), Rudy Sarzo (Dio) and drummers Mikkey Dee (Motorhead), Frankie Banali (Quiet Riot) and Eric Singer (Kiss).

My favorite tracks are "Magical Mystery Tour" with Jeff Scott Soto on vocals and Yngwie Malmsteen on guitar and "Day Tripper," which features former Damn Yankee bandmates Jack Blades and Tommy Shaw on vocals. The songs are all very well done with a great cast of musicians.
