Carnal Forge - Testify For My Victims

Carnal Forge - Testify For My VictimsCandlelight Records
This is the first Carnal Forge studio album since 2004, and even though Jens Mortensen replaced Jonas Kjellgren nearly three years ago, this is his first CD as the band's vocalist.

Testify For My Victims blends melodic death metal and thrash. It's very aggressive and intense, but also has more melody than any of their previous albums. The songs are diverse, ranging from blazing speed metal that's very technical to mid-tempo songs that are groovy and melodic.

Mortensen's vocals are less brutal and edgy than Kjellgren's, which along with the added melody has watered down Carnal Forge's sound a bit and has taken away some of their uniqueness. It's still a solid thrash/melodic death album, but I was expecting more.
