Even though the album is only 5 tracks, Denava shows a lot of different sides. In addition to the psychedelic stuff, they also delve deeply into the progressive, with 4 minute instrumental breaks and 12 minute songs. You'll hear a lot of bluesy guitar riffs as well.
The vocals on Denava are melodic, and Dusty Sparkles seems to have a decent voice. I say seems because most of the vocals are really processed with a lot of effects and distortion that adds to the whole retro vibe. Even with songs that are really long Denava doesn't lose any momentum because of the complexity of the arrangements and the variety within each track. Whether you're a fan of stoner, progressive, glam, psychedelic or heavy music in general you should be able to find something you like on this CD.
