In Darkness Comes Beauty is the debut release from the Finnish band Dark The Suns. As you might gather from the band name and album title, they play gothic metal.
This is an impressive debut. The songs are very well-written with catchy riffs. Dark The Suns uses plenty of keyboards/synths for a dark, gothic atmosphere. They also use a lot of piano, which adds a melancholy feel to the music.
Dark The Suns is one of the seemingly few gothic metal bands that doesn't have a female vocalist. Instead the vocals are harsh, death metal style growls. Mikko Ojala also uses a whispering style on a couple of songs, which actually sounds pretty cool. In Darkness Comes Beauty could use a little more diversity from song to song, but it is a promising debut that gothic metal fans should enjoy.
