They've been around for five years or so and have released a couple of demos and an EP. This is the first full-length CD from the Finnish band Dead Shape Figure.
The Grand Karoshi is intense thrash metal. After a rather pointless two minute intro, the shredding begins. Dead Shape Figure's dual guitar attack plays fast riffs, creative fills and searing solos. They have old school influences, but also keep their sound relatively modern. In addition to the thrash, there are a few slower, death metal influenced parts, but for the most part the tempo remains fast.
Dead Shape Figure's vocals are aggressive thrash style yells and growls with a few hardcore shoutalongs. The Grand Karoshi treads pretty familiar musical ground, but their enthusiasm, energy and musicianship make their debut a worthy one for thrash fans.
