Denial Fiend - They Rise

Ibex Moon Records
The Tampa, Florida group Denial Fiend is a new one, having formed in 2006, but its members have been in some pretty big name metal bands. The lineup includes vocalist Kam Lee (Death, Massacre), bassist Terry Butler (Death, Massacre, Six Feet Under), guitarist Sam Willams (Down By Law) and drummer Curtis Beeson (Nasty Savage).

Denial Fiend's debut full-length is They Rise, a good old fashioned scary dose of horror metal. The songs are groovy and fast with a thrashy punk feel. They are fun and catchy with some great riffs and memorable choruses.

The vocals are a combination of hardcore shouts, gang vocals and some more intense yells that aren't quite death metal growls, but pretty close. The lyrics address various monsters and horror movies and are full of gore and tongue in cheek humor. They Rise is ghoulish good fun and arrives just in time for Halloween.
