The Destro - As The Coil UnwindsIronclad Recordings
From deep in the heart of Texas comes a band to be reckoned with. The Destro has been around since 2000, developing their sound and playing a lot of live shows in their home state. They came to the attention of Ironclad Recordings and were quickly signed by the label owned by Trevor Phipps of Unearth.

On their full-length debut As The Coil Unwinds, The Destro has taken elements of traditional metal, death metal, hardcore and grindcore and molded it into their own concoction. Whether they are playing fast and technical or slower and more melodic, there's always a giant groove running through the songs.

Pantera is a big influence on the band's sound, and you'll hear similarities to groups like Lamb Of God as well. The Destro plays metal that is simple without being simplistic. You'll hear no gimmicks, no wankery, just metal that is direct and aggressive and manages to be both brutal and catchy as hell. An outstanding debut.
