The Devil Wears Prada - PlaguesRise Records
Dayton, Ohio's The Devil Wears Prada released their debut album Dear Love, A Beautiful Dischord last year to good response. They did some touring, but can now really focus on their band duties now that everyone has finally graduated from high school.

Their latest effort is Plagues, which incorporates the usual metalcore style and constant breakdowns with synths and some rock elements that add a little twist to The Devil Wears Prada's sound. They go from being very intense, aggressive and harsh to melodic and mainstream.

The vocals on the album are a combination of high pitched screams, low pitched screams and melodic singing. The high pitched screaming gets a little grating, but the lower pitched screaming is good, as is the melodic singing. There are also guest vocals from Craig Owens of Chiodos. This is a musical road that's been tread on by a lot of different bands, and The Devil Wears Prada at least tries a few different twists to a genre that really needs it.
