Droid is ferocious metalcore. It's loud, relentless and passionate. You'll hear influences of groups like Hatebreed and Chimaira in Droid's sound. There's not a whole lot of originality displayed here. It's the usual metalcore song structure with plenty of breakdowns, although Droid does it very well.
Vocalist James "Buddy" Eason really shines. He has a powerful and angry delivery that has a decent amount of diversity. There's also a guest appearance from Chino Moreno of Deftones. The production is also good, with a stellar job of mixing/mastering from Tue Madsen, who seemingly either produces or mixes about half of the metal albums that are released. Overall it's a solid debut, and if Droid can find a more distinctive sound they'll be even better.
