Echoes Of Eternity - The Forgotten GoddessNuclear Blast Records
Echoes Of Eternity are not your typical gothic metal band. They do have a female lead singer, but their music has a harder edge than most bands in this genre. The group has members from the U.S., Canada and Japan, and this is their debut album.

The Forgotten Goddess blends traditional heavy metal grooves and riffs with progressive and gothic elements. It has all the crunch and intensity of mainsteam metal, but the vocals add a whole new perspective and twist to the music.

Francine Boucher is the band's singer, and her vocals are sometimes traditional and blend in with the music. Other times they are ethereal and higher pitched, giving the song a completely different vibe. She's also from Quebec and sings some of the lyrics in French.

There's a lot of diversity on this CD, from aggressive and heavy songs to slow, dreamy ballads. Echoes Of Eternity are technically very skilled and the songs are arranged very well. It's a promising debut, and with a few more memorable hooks and catchy choruses it could have been even better.
