Eternal Lord - Blessed Be This Nightmare

Eternal Lord - Blessed Be This Nightmare

Ferret Music
Eternal Lord are a band from Swindon, U.K. Their vocalist is Ed Butcher, who is the former vocalist for Australian group I Killed The Prom Queen. Before that, Butcher along with guitarists Chris Gregory and Sean Zerabeki were in Hunt For Ida Wave together. This is their full-length debut.

Blessed Be This Nightmare combines metalcore and death metal. There are thick riffs and pummeling breakdowns. The songs are brutal and aggressive with a few hooks that up the catchiness factor. Eternal Lord tries to add a few things to make them stand out, like some groovy parts and even an acoustic instrumental, but it's still pretty standard stuff.

Butcher's vocals are aggressive death metal growls. He varies up the pitch and delivery pretty well. Blessed Be This Nightmare isn't anything new or different, but they do a solid job in the metalcore/deathcore arena.

(released March 18, 2008 on Ferret Music)
