This is an interesting concept for an album: female tribute bands doing versions of metal and rock songs done originally by male artists. The tribute band names are great, such as Hell's Belles (AC/DC), Zepparella (Led Zeppelin) Cheap Chick (Cheap Trick). There's a bit of AC/DC overkill with three different bands doing songs.

Like any compilation, there are hits and misses. Some of the better performances are Hell's Belles "Back In Black," Zepparella's version of "The Lemon Song" and the Iron Maidens' "Run To The Hills." They all have a lot of passion and energy. Most of the rest of the songs are slick and polished and basically bubblegum versions of the originals.

I liked the concept of this CD and about half the songs, but the other half left me empty. That puts the rating smack dab in the middle at 2 1/2 stars, a solid C.
