After being formed as a side project 10 years ago, Hermano is still a very viable band in 2008. They are fronted by former Kyuss vocalist John Garcia, and the rest of the group includes guitarists David Angstrom (Supafuzz) and Mike Callahan (Disengage), bassist Dandy Brown (Dock Ellis) and drummer Chris Leathers (Supafuzz).
Into The Exam Room is a diverse effort. There are mellow and laid back songs, groovy mid-tempo jams and fast and heavy rockers. Hermano's band members are scattered across the country, and their songwriting process is aided greatly by the internet. The result is a plethora of styles and influences, ranging from classic rock to blues to folk to stoner metal to southern rock.
Garcia is an excellent vocalist who uses a range of styles and emotions that add even more diversity to the music. Into The Exam Room is a CD with a lot of depth and texture, and its glory unfolds a little more each time you listen.
