Heaven Shall Burn - Iconoclast Part 1: The Final Resistance

Heaven Shall Burn - Iconoclast Part 1: The Final Resistance

Century Media Records
The German metalcore band Heaven Shall Burn returns with their fifth full-length CD. After using Jacob Hansen (Mercenary) on their last release, this one was produced by Heaven Shall Burn guitarists Alexander Dietz and Maik Weichert and was mixed by Tue Madsen (Himsa, The Haunted).

Iconoclast Part 1: The Final Resistance is angry metalcore with melodic death metal influences. In a genre marked by generic soundalikes, Heaven Shall Burn has more originality and diversity than most. Some songs are fast, brutal and heavy, others more melodic and groovy. There are also some interludes and keyboard parts that add some atmosphere to the mix. Being metalcore, there are also an abundance of breakdowns.

Marcus Bischoff's vocals are harsh screams delivered with a lot of anger, and varies his pitch and intensity a bit, although a little more variety would be even better. Heaven Shall Burn's lyrics are very socially conscious, addressing topics like racism and veganism. Iconoclast Part 1: The Final Resistance is a CD metalcore fans can sink their teeth into.

(released February 5, 2008 on Century Media Records)
