Hurtlocker - Embrace The Fall

Napalm Records
Just over a year after their debut album Fear In A Handful Of Dust, Hurtlocker returns with their sophomore release.

Like their first album, Embrace The Fall is pummeling modern thrash metal. The Chicago band delivers intense songs at breakneck speed. Guitarists Tim Moe and Justin Jurgevich play riffs that are both heavy and catchy. You'll also hear some death metal and metalcore elements in Hurtlocker's music. Their songwriting has improved since the last album and there's a bit more variety as well.

One thing that hasn't changed is the intensity of Grant Belcher's vocals. His style is angry and emotional, high pitched yells that have a hardcore vibe. Thrash metal is riding high right now, and Hurtlocker is one of the groups on the crest of the genre's revival.
