Intronaut - VoidGoodfellow Records
I was really impressed with Intronaut's debut EP Null and wondered if they could sustain that level of creativity and innovation over a full CD. After hearing Void, the answer is an unequivocal yes.

The band consists of former Anubis Rising guitarist Sacha Dunable, ex-Uphill Battle drummer Danny Walker, vocalist/guitarists Leon del Muerte (Impaled, Exhumed) and newcomer Joe Lester on bass. Intronaut's unique sound blends the brutal and the experimental. At times the songs are doomy death metal with harsh vocals. Then all of a sudden there will be an instrumental break that's progressive and almost jazzy sounding. Then the brutality begins again.

Joe Lester's bass guitar really stands out. The lead guitars get plenty of exposure, but you don't usually hear such creative and featured bass playing on a metal record. This CD is a great combination of superb musicianship and clever songwriting. It's complex and catchy, innovative and interesting.
