Isole - Bliss Of Solitude

Napalm Records
The Swedish doom metal band Isole has been around since the early '90s, and after recording several demos under the name Forlorn changed their name and finally released their debut in 2005.

Bliss Of Solitude is Isole's third full-length, a somber slab of epic doom metal. Thick, heavy riffs drive the songs, but there are lighter acoustic sections as well. As you'd expect from a CD of this genre, the songs move at a slow pace with a dark and gloomy atmosphere.

The vocals on Bliss Of Solitude are mostly melodic and emotional with a few growls. Long and epic, the songs clock in at anywhere from 6 to 11 minutes in length, but Isole manages to keep things interesting. They switch up tempos and intensities frequently, engaging the listener and enveloping them in a veil of darkness and desolation.

(released January 29, 2008 on Napalm Records)
