About a year after its overseas release, Jorn Lande's compilation CD The Gathering is now available in North America. It's a collection of his earlier material, some of which has been completely re-recorded, with others having been remixed. The whole thing was remastered by Tommy Hansen.
The oldest tracks go back a decade or so, and range up to 2004. Lande has a great voice, and has worked with several different bands over the years including Masterplan and Yngwie Malmsteen. The songs on The Gathering are melodic and bombastic traditional/power metal with a lot of hooks and singalong choruses.
If you haven't yet discovered Jorn, the 16 tracks on The Gathering are a good place to start. And if you are already a Lande fan and own his solo CDs, the re-recordings and remixes are reason enough to buy this collection.
