This is a CD that starts with a bang and doesn't let up until the end. The dual guitar attack of Mark Morton and Will Adler shreds and solos their way around the rock solid and very underrated drumming of Chris Adler. There are some very memorable and catchy songs, including "Redneck," which seems destined to be a crowd favorite at concerts.
Randy Blythe steps it up on vocals as well. His distinctive rasp is an acquired taste, and he changes things up a bit more than in the past. There are even some singing background vocals on a couple tracks.
Lamb Of God has expanded their lyrical repertoire as well. Instead of focusing mainly on political topics they have delved into their own psyches to write compelling lyrics about addiction, co-dependency and depression. Sacrament has the musicianship, passion and excellent songwriting to ensure that Lamb Of God keeps ascending the metal ladder.
