Leaves Eyes' new EP/MCD picks up right where their previous CD Vinland Saga left off. The songs continue the story of the Vikings, and on this album they make their way to North America before returning to Norway.
The music of Leaves Eyes is gothic metal with progressive elements. Liv Kristine's ethereal and dreamy vocals contrast the harsh growls of her husband, Alexander Krull. There are five new songs on the CD, plus an extended version of the title track. They are flawlessly constructed with a lot of atmosphere and a nice contrast of darkness and light.
