Ligeia plays metalcore, with the typical breakdowns and mix of screaming and clean vocals. Bad News avoids being completely generic by having some catchy songs. It's formulaic, with sexually charged and sometimes cheesy lyrics, but there are some very good hooks and memorable choruses.
Keith Holuk is the band's vocalist. His hardcore style vocals are very effective, delivered with passion and emotion. The melodic singing on Bad News is decent, and is used less than the yelling/screaming.
Ligeia breaks from the metalcore mold with "Heroin Diaries." It's a simple ballad with just voice and guitar. It's a nice departure, an earnest and heartfelt song about addiction. It shows the band is able to stretch its abilities and style, and showing more creativity and diversity on the fast and intense songs is what Ligeia needs to do to set themselves apart from the typical metalcore act.
