On their third album, the Danish band Mnemic has assembled an all star production team. Passenger is produced by Christian Olde Wolbers (Fear Factory) and mixed by Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Himsa). They also have a new vocalist, former Scarve singer Guillaume Bideau. The result is the band's best album so far.
Mnemic combines modern metal that's technical and industrial with old school grooves and melodies. The band's self labeled "fusion future metal" has elements of groups like Meshuggah, Soilwork and Fear Factory along with their own unique spin. The songs are technically complex and intense with very catchy choruses and hooks.
Bideau's vocals are excellent. He has a strong melodic voice, and is also able to successfully pull off angry screaming style vocals with equal skill. Passenger is a balanced attack of aggression, technicality and melody that reveals something new with each listen.
