Signs Of Existence is the second album from the Finnish band MyGrain, and they emphasize the melodic in melodic death metal.
The songs on the album are heavy with sharp guitars, fierce drums and even a breakdown or two. MyGrain also adds in keyboards for some extra atmosphere and emotion. The CD starts really strong with "Translucent Dreams," which is both melodic and intense. It loses some momentum in the middle tracks, but overall has stronger and catchier songs than their debut.
The vocals on Signs Of Existence alternate between high pitched yells, a few death metal growls and melodic singing. You'll hear some female vocals sprinkled in periodically as well. They are all pretty strong, and along with the aggressive and melodic songs makes this CD an enjoyable listen.
