Stuck Here On Snakes Way blends brutal death metal with catchy thrash riffs, clever melodies and keyboards that add atmosphere without detracting from the intensity of the songs. Death metal albums can get very repetitive, but that's not the case with this CD as Omnium Gatherum infuses different styles into nearly every track. You'll hear everything from traditional metal to thrash to death and even a hint of progressive and industrial.
New vocalist Pelkonen has a rough edged voice that fits in well with the style of the band. His death metal growls are intense, and still understandable. He also tries a little bit of melodic singing, which isn't quite as strong. A well rounded and diverse effort, melodic death fans will find a lot to like with Stuck Here On Snakes Way.
