Onslaught - Killing PeaceCandlelight Records
Onslaught are a band old school thrash fans might remember. They released a couple albums in the '80s and broke up in 1991. At one point their vocalist was Grim Reaper's Steve Grimmett. They had some success, especially in Europe, but never came close to the popularity of the thrash titans of the era like Slayer and Metallica. The original lineup of the band reunited in 2005, and this is their comeback album.

There aren't many surprises in Killing Peace. Onslaught delivers classic thrash metal. It's a solid effort with some excellent riffs and good melodies. They run the gamut from full out speed metal to mid tempo songs with more groove and melodies.

Sy Keeler is Onslaught's vocalist, and his style is mostly a raspy shout with some melodic singing vocals. If you like old school thrash in the vein of Exodus and Overkill, the return of Onslaught will be right up your alley.
